The village Liptovsky Jan as well as Vila Helena is situated ideally for both summer and winter activities. From both culture and sports, there is something for everyone to enjoy. There are several historical and cultural monuments in the surrounding area and the village itself has got a long and interesting history.

Winter:

• Liptovsky Jan and its ski centre Javorovica – it is a family-type centre, suitable for beginners as well as advanced skiers Four ski-lifts are available. 20 kms long cross country course
• Zavazna Poruba – ski centre Opalisko – only 5 minutes by car from Liptovsky Jan, offers you quality skiing on 5 ski slopes with 4 ski lifts and a 15 kms long cross country course.
• Certovica – 20 minutes by car from Liptovsky Jan. You can ski on 6 ski slopes with 5 ski lifts. 5 kms long cross country course available as well.
• Chopok – 20 minutes by car from Liptovsky Jan, is one of the most popular and best known ski centres in Slovakia. It is suitable for skiing, cross country, snowboarding and hiking.
• Podbanske – 20 minutes by car, is a ski center suitable mainly for families.
• There are also minor ski slopes in the surrounding villages. Sleighing is possible on the hills near the villa.
